R J Dent is a freelance novelist, poet, translator, essayist and short story writer.

His dark erotic fantasy novel Myth was published in 2006.

In 2008 Solar Books published his translation of Charles Baudelaire's The Flowers of Evil & Artificial Paradise.

He has also translated major works of Alcaeus, Aragon, Artaud, Apollinaire, Breton, Heine, Lautréamont, Masson and Vesaas.

R J Dent has published poems, short stories, novellas and essays in numerous magazines, periodicals and journals, including Writer's Muse, Orbis, Roundyhouse, Chanticleer, and Philosophy Now, to name but a few. His translations of the poems of Alcaeus and Baudelaire have appeared in Acumen and Inclement.

His poetry collection Moonstone Silhouettes was published by Inclement Publishing in 2009.

His literary influences are William S. Burroughs, Angela Carter, J G Ballard, Ayn Rand, Anna Kavan and Ray Bradbury, amongst others.

He is currently at work on his next book.
